Richard Parker, Tennessee Bombing: More Evidence Emerges Connecting Suspect To The Scene Of The Crime Near Nashville? [VIDEO]
Richard Parker, the son-in-law of a Tennessee couple, was arrested after a bombing took place at the pair's home on Thursday, and more evidence may have emerged that connected him to the crime.
Parker's in-laws, Jon and Marian Setzer, were killed after the bombing took place in their home in Wilson County last Monday. Jon died at the scene of the incident while Marian died two days later in a hospital.
Parker was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of unpremeditated murder and a count of unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon, according to International Business Times.
The couple was supposedly part of a church where Jon had sometimes taught Sunday school.
"The grief is deep [and] profound because they were such wonderful people," the church's senior pastor Rev. Mike Ripski said. "They lived out their faith. Two people targeted for this kind of violence doesn't make sense at all."
It turns out that there may have been a note that was connected to the incident. The note was reportedly attached to the bomb, according to CNN.
"This is a very important piece of evidence because now you may have handwriting," bomb expert Joseph Vince said.
While there is no official word on what happened, officials believe that Setzer picked up the package at his mailbox, which was about 200 yards from his house. It reportedly detonated inside the house.
"It doesn't make sense at all," family friend Ken Caldwell said. "When I've heard it said that it was targeted, I thought, well, they must have targeted the wrong person."
