"We look forward to introducing these new characters to our Masterpiece audience," Rebecca Eaton, the Masterpiece executive producer, said in a statement.
The series' executive producer Gareth Neame is also looking forward to these new characters.
"We are delighted to welcome these talented actors to the world of Downton," Neame said. "The characters they play are set to bring yet more excitement and intrigue to the show."
Past characters are set to return for the next season, including Michelle Dockery, Penelope Wilton, Laura Carmichael, Brendan Coyle and plenty more.
