Lindsay Lohan Car Accident Investigation: Actress Lied to Police
Lindsay Lohan's recent crash is giving her troubles with the law again.
Law enforcement officials say Lohan lied to police the day she crashed in Santa Monica, California, when she told them she was not the person driving the car.
Lohan told police that she was a passenger in the car when the accident happened and her assistant was the one driving, according to the officials, celebrities' site TMZ reports.
However, Lohan's assistant Gavin contradicted her and said the actress was driving, law enforcement sources told the site.
Police will file a report claiming Lohan lied to cops which is a crime and her probation could be revoked, TMZ reports.
The 25-year-old actress crashed with her Porsche into a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway on Friday. She was taken to hospital but was unharmed.
The Porsche's front was completely destroyed, according to photos after the accident.
The truck's driver says it was Lohan's fault and alleges that Lohan's people tried to bribe him into not calling the police.
However Lohan says the crash was the driver's fault and denied bribing him.
Lohan was taken off probation in March for a 2007 Driving Under the Influence case and must obey all laws for an additional 2 ½ years as part of informal probation over a necklace theft incident in 2011.
Lohan has said that what prompted her to complete the requirements after not being able to do so previously - which included cleaning at a morgue and counseling sessions - was a reassessment of her acting career.
Lohan is currently filming the Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick" where she portrays Elizabeth Taylor.
