As fans anxiously wait for the third season of Dallas to premiere, the end of the season has yet to be written.

One of the show's Producers, Ken Topolsky, vouched for the writer and creator of the show, Cynthia Cindre, who was MIA Thursday at a sneak peek premiere for the kickoff episode at the Highland Park Village Theatre in Dallas.

He said, "She's busy writing the last two episodes of the season."

He added the cast will be in Dallas shooting the third season, which is slated for 15 episodes, until early April.

While Patrick Duffy also didn't make the premiere because he was on set directing an episode, Linda Gray (Sue Ellen), Jesse Metcalfe (Christopher) and Julie Gonzalo (Pamela) were there.

Topolsky also opened up about working on the show for the season without Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing) who died of cancer in 2012 after six episodes of season 2 were taped. Hagman was 81-years-old.

"You feel him every day on set."

Duffy (who's character is Ewing's brother) said a similar statement recently about the cast's loss.

"[J.R.]'s character was such a larger-than life being that we still reference him on the show. And a lot of the plot devices that we're dealing with, we attribute to the character of J.R.-- if it hadn't have been for that, then this wouldn't have happened...But there he is."

Josh Henderson, who plays J.R. and Sue Ellen's son said the set will never be the same.

"We'll never be used to shooting this show without Larry. He's always missed and he's always a part of the story line."

Dallas season three premieres on TNT Monday Feb. 24 at 10/9c.
