It looks like there's a possibility of Downton Abbey becoming a feature film.

Serious Shakeup In Fifth Season Of Downton Abbey?

Michelle Dockery from the series gave a live interview with Total Film, which was published on Monday, of what she knows about a Downton Abbey movie. She seems unsure if it'll happen although she's heard rumors about it.

"I don't know," Dockery said. "I really don't know, it's in the hands of the creators, I mean, I've heard those rumors."

Matt Damon To Make Appearance On Downton Abbey?

Considering that other television series' turned into films, Dockery seems optimistic that Downton Abbey could become one too.

"Of course, it happens with other series so I don't know, we'll see," Dockery said.

Dockery was then asked if director J.J. Abrams could end up directing the potential film since he is apparently a fan of the show.

"That'd be something quite different for J.J. to direct Downton," Dockery said. The actress then mentioned that Abrams could create a plot revolving around aliens landing.

As for the fifth season, Carter Matt revealed that Maggie Smith's character will be back for more screen time although she has the ability to leave whenever she wants.

Other characters who are set to come back for the next season include Anthony Gillingham and Charles Blake.

It has been rumored that Lord Gillingham and Lady Mary could spark up a romance after a photo was released that showed them sharing an embrace. There is currently no word if that moment is supposed to be romantic or not.

Downton Abbey Season 5 is set to premiere in January 2015.
