The Survivor: Cagayan premiere Wednesday night proved that the brains tribe could keep losing members with each episode.

The brains tribe got off to a bad start in Survivor: Cagayan, losing both Immunity Challenges to the brawn and beauty tribes. With only four members left compared to the others tribes' six, the brains tribe could continue to lose players as the season moves forward.

Survivor host Jeff Probst spoke with Entertainment Weekly after the premiere episode and teased the potential for brains to keep losing challenges.

"There is only one big tease - the Brain tribe has to win the immunity challenge or they are in serious trouble. To lose half your tribe in the first three episodes might be too much for anyone to overcome," Probst said.

The brains tribe was heavily criticized on social media after the premiere, with many expressing their shock that any of them were cast to be on such a tribe. The premiere featured the brains tribe voting out two of their strongest men, David Samson and Garrett Adelstein, while keeping J'Tia Taylor, who caused trouble for them in the challenges and at camp.

Ironically, J'Tia was the overwhelming winner of Enstars' pre-season poll asking who could win Survivor: Cagayan.

Episode 2 of Survivor: Cagayan will only be a one-hour episode, compared to the premiere's two hours. There will likely only be one person voted out at the end of the episode.

Survivor: Cagayan airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
