'Hannibal' Season 2 Guide To The Premiere: What To Expect From Will Graham, Dr Lecter, Jack Crawford & New Sneak Peek VIDEOS
Hannibal is returns for a second season on Friday night, and the NBC psychological thriller is as dark as ever.
Who Will Die In 'Hannibal' Season 2? Which Female Character Is Set To Leave?
It's been eight months since Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) regurgitated Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl) ear and slowly came to realize Dr. Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) true identity. To get viewers ready for the premiere, Enstars has put together a quick guide to the Hannibal cast and what you can expect form them in "Kaiseki."
Will Graham
Will has been treated for his encephalitis and is now an unwilling resident at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Now that the profiler is playing with a full deck of cards, he will begin to fight back against the cannibalistic psychologist.
How Much Screen Time Does Will Graham Have While Imprisoned On 'Hannibal'?
"It think the theme is a scrappy Will Graham coming out swinging," said series creator Bryan Fuller in an interview with TV Line. "So we saw over the course of the first season him victimized in a very specific way and now we get to see what happens when he fights back and the lengths that Will Graham will go to not only defend himself but defend those around him and protect them."
Unfortunately, Graham will have a hard time getting anyone to believe his story and he keeps turning away his lawyers despite an upcoming trial in episode 3 (see first video below).
Hannibal
Despite the fact that he set Will up as his patsy, Dr. Lecter is not pleased that he is in prison, according to IGN. Instead, the serial killer will continue to desire to be close to his victim.
"Hannibal will always want to be close to Will," series creator Bryan Fuller told TV Guide. "He sees a great potential in Will as this pure human being, and he's seduced by Will's purity. He's attracted to it, and he's also very eager to conquer it in some way."
However, Hannibal will also continue to try to convince Will that he really did kill Abigail, contrary to what Graham knows to be true about Dr. Lecter (see second video below). Although the premiere will open in medias res as Hannibal and Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) battle each other in the kitchen (see fifth video below), fans will have to wait until the end of the season for that to be resolved and the psychologist will start the season off as Jack's new profiler (see third video below).
Jack Crawford
The FBI agent will be under investigation by Kade Prurnell (Cynthia Nixon) from the Office of the Inspector General. Prunell will be tasked with determining how culpable he is when it comes to Will's alleged behavior. He will also be seeing a shrink of his own.
While he seems to believe without a doubt that Will is guilty, Jack will follow up on Graham's accusations against Dr. Lecter (see the fourth video below).
Hannibal will return to NBC on Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. ET.
