Paul Walker's brother, Cody, might be being reconsidered for his role as production for Fast and Furious 7 resumes.

Paul Walker's Absence During Filming Will Be Rough on Tyrese Gibson

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding what will become of Paul's character, since he passed away in a car accident last year. While there have been suggestions of the character being killed off there have also been rumors of the Brian O'Connor surviving, and the producers looking for a suitable replacement. While that rumor was later dismissed it seems like Cody might actually still be in the picture, as production for the film restarts in April.

In December last year, it was revealed that Cody may take on the deceased actor's role in Fast and Furious 7 because of their physical resemblance, according to a source who spoke to MailOnline.

Autopsy Suggests Paul Walker Was Still Alive After Crash? Details of Will Revealed

The inside source said that after a string of meetings following Paul's death, filmmakers realized that they need someone who bore a physical likeness to the late actor in order to finish the film. Finding a 'double' for Paul would help them film necessary scenes.

"They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on," the source said. ''If Cody agrees it's because he wants to honor his brother's memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now the family and cast and crew are all still grieving."

Cody, 25, is based in Oregon. Since Paul's death he has been staying at his mother Cheryl's home in Los Angeles.

Paul died on Nov. 30 in a car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif. He was the passenger in a car being driven by his friend, race car driver Roger Rodas, who also died in the accident. The speeding car hit a tree and instantly burst into flames, causing both the actor and Rodas to die on the spot. The actor was headed home after attending a charity event for his foundation, Reach Out Worldwide.

Paul is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow.
