'Annie' Trailer: Quvenzhané Wallis Pairs With Jamie Foxx As A Sunny Modern Orphan
Annie has jumped into the modern age, and Quvenzhané Wallis is leading the charge.
The 10-year-old actress made it to the Oscars in 2013 for her portrayal of Hushpuppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild, appeared in 12 Years a Slave, and will show off her singing chops this Christmas as a plucky orphan from Harlem.
A new trailer for the Will Gluck directed film shows a thoroughly modern - and undeniably New Yorkian - version of the Thomas Meehan production. With Wallis portraying the eponymous hero, Jamie Foxx as mayoral hopeful Benjamin Stacks (the new Daddy Warbucks), and Cameron Diaz as the unsavory Miss Hannigan, the new musical has a fresh new face.

In an effort to boost his popularity during his run for mayor, Stacks decides to foster Annie after he saves her from being mowed down by a car. As the well-healed politician gives the young orphan a peek at the more opulent side of Manhattan, he starts to feel his fatherly ambitions awakening. Unfortunately, Annie's parents soon come to sweep their alleged daughter away.

Annie will hit theaters on Dec. 19.
