While Federal Judge Esther Salas accepted Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe's, guilty plea for serious fraud charges, Joe could still be kicked out of the United States and deported back to his home country, Italy.

Joe is currently facing up to 46 months behind bars (while Teresa is looking at up to 27 and has agreed to pay the government $200,000) and Salas made it clear when she accepted the plea that he could be punished more, New York Daily News reported. When he is finished with his sentence, he will have another hearing which Salas said will "likely result in...your being removed from the United States." Their sentencing date is currently scheduled for July 8.

Joe's attorney, Miles Feinstein told Us Weekly, it would be unfair for Joe to be forced to leave the country.

Joe Still Facing Fake ID Charges

"I think it would be a tremendous injustice, given that he's been here since he was 1 year old. His parents and brothers have been naturalized, and Teresa and the children are citizens. Joe not getting U.S. citizenship, just slipped through the cracks. He could have gotten it easily. He thought he was a citizen, as did everyone else. The fact that he wasn't was brought up in the state case, he didn't know up until then."

As for Teresa, her guilty plea isn't stopping her from filming the current season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Giudice's lawyer, Henry Klingeman, revealed that the reality star will continue taping the show until her sentencing. The season will be complete before July 8, but producers are said to be doing whatever they can to "exploit" the drama that surrounds it as the date approaches.

One snag they are concerned about is the reunion show, considering Teresa and her husband Joe, who also pled guilty, could be behind bars by the time it is taped.

Since the plea, Teresa has retweeted several positive tweets of her fans' well wishes and prayers for her and her family during this time.

The sixth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is set to air later this year.
