NeNe Marlo Feud: Hampton Said 'RHOA' Stars Warned Her Leakes Would 'Play You Like Chess' [VIDEO]
Now that NeNe Leakes and her ex-BFF Marlo Hampton have had a falling out, Hampton has revealed that she was warned about Leakes, by her own The Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars.
Marlo Apologizes To NeNe and 'RHOA' Cast
She told Radar Online in an article published Friday, "When I met NeNe, everyone was against her. Everyone told me, 'Beware! Beware!' But guess what, I didn't listen and got to know NeNe on my own."
She went on to reveal that it was Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss who actually told her to tread lightly when it came to getting close to Leakes.
NeNe Slams Marlo 'She's Not Important'
"Kandi showed me, 'NeNe is going to play you like chess.' She said, 'Marlo, when she knew you were coming onto the show, she went crazy on set. She screamed and cursed and yelled and then she befriended you.'"
Hampton also revealed the details of her falling out with the new Dancing With the Stars competitor and proved their drama off screen even more intense than when the reality TV cameras are rolling.
"We exchanged text messages a few days ago. It ended up with her saying, 'Don't call me back.' It wasn't good at all."
Hampton, who was a bridesmaid in Leakes' second wedding to her now husband Gregg, said she believes their huge fallout had everything to do with Hampton's friendship with Leakes' frienemy Kenya Moore.
"I was surprised by her reaction to me becoming friends with Kenya. It's like 'Are we in high school right now?'" She said.
Still, she's not against the two rekindling their friendship.
"It's definitely possible, but where I'm sitting right now in this chair, that's the last person on my mind. NeNe does better with mimes as friends. It's ok as long as you're praising her and being her cheerleader, but as soon as you go to disagree, it's a problem. I'm real and not going to sugarcoat something just so she can feel happy."
Hampton added that she hopes Leakes does well in Dancing With the Stars.
