Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has one very bald, very blue, and very dangerous baddie.

While Guardians' first trailer did a seller job of introducing Star-Lord and his misfit band of criminal heroes, it brushed over the films main villains- Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace).

Nebula, who is Ronan's right-hand villain, can only briefly be seen at minute 1:52 and 1:58 in the trailer (see video below). To make up for this, Gillan was kind enough to share her thoughts on her first post-Doctor Who sci-fi character with MTV.

"I find her hilarious," Gillan told the site. "But she can't find herself hilarious, that's not scary."

Although Nebula is unable to laugh at herself, the James Gunn directed Phase Two project will pack enough humor to make up for her sullen attitude.

"I just think it's a new direction for Marvel, it's really, really funny," Gillan explained, according to MTV. "It's not taking itself seriously at all. It's tongue in cheek."

Considering the galactic adventure is the first piece of the cohesive Marvel Cinematic Universe that doesn't feature one of the Avengers, the film's humor is one of the major hooks responsible for the success of the trailer.

"Just to see people be excited about that new tone is cool," Gillan told MTV.

Catch Nebula on the big screen when Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters on Aug. 1.
