'Fast and Furious 7' News: Paul Walker's Sunglasses and Other Items From Car Crash Being Auctioned? [VIDEO]
Paul Walker's sunglasses and other items recovered from the car crash that claimed his life are being put up for auction, according to reports.
While the idea of selling the possessions on the actor's person when he was last seen alive seems contentious, it is being alleged that the items are indeed being auctioned online. The items include the actor's sunglasses, a fire extinguisher -- which was used to try and salvage the burning vehicle -- and a chunk of debris from the car.
The authenticity of the sunglasses is still in question but according to a trusted source it seems like they might actually the same pair that the actor had worn on the fateful day. The glasses have been put up for auctioning online by an anonymous seller, who reportedly retrieved them from the site of the accident.
According to a report by TMZ , the seller found the glasses lying in a bush near where the accident took place.
Kieta, an acquisitions specialist at BidAMI.com confirmed that the glasses were a credible find.
"We photo-matched them to the one's Paul was wearing [that day]. And of course the statement from the person who obtained them," Kieta told the Daily News.
The auction was launched on Thursday, March 13.
Paul died on Nov. 30 in a car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif. He was the passenger in a car being driven by his friend, race car driver Roger Rodas, who also died in the accident. The speeding car hit a tree and instantly burst into flames, causing both the actor and Rodas to die on the spot. The actor was headed home after attending a charity event for his foundation, Reach Out Worldwide.
Paul is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow.
