Unfortunately for The Mentalist, The CW's Beauty and the Beast snagged first place while the CBS drama landed in second. While making it so close the to winner's circle clearly demonstrates a strong fanbase, it may not be enough to keep the series on the air.
Fans shouldn't lose hope quite yet, however. Karl Sonnenberg, a police/medical technical advisor for The Mentalist, previously stated that the matter would not be decided until after the season finale.
"I hope we have a season 7, we won't know until May," Sonnenberg tweeted.
Meanwhile, editor James Gadd claims the Warner Bros. is still in their corner.
"I know you are all concerned about the future of #TheMentalist, but be patient. We are all working for a #Season7Mentalist. WB has our backs," Gadd explained.
