The Walking Dead is about to air its last two episodes of the season, and it looks like fans should be prepared for the absolute unthinkable to happen.

Melissa McBride Dishes On What's Next For Carol?

Series Executive Producer Robert Kirkman answered fans' questions in a Reddit AMA on Thursday, where he shared information about what's to come on the popular zombie series, including whether an important character could die.

"In my opinion, I feel like characters ripen like fruit," Kirkman wrote. "So while I wouldn't say the more popular a character is the more likely they are to die, they do have to reach a certain level of popularity before they've 'earned' the death. No character is too popular to die. (Suck it, Reedus!)"

Major Character Death Chatter

Kirkman then talked about Rick Grimes, the show's leading character. When asked if he was safe, Kirkman reiterated that no one was guaranteed safe on the show.

"ABSOLTELY NOT. Although when I look in Andrew Lincoln's piercing blues eyes I FEEL safe," he replied.

The producer also pointed out that Beth should be coming back again, despite her character being abducted in a recent episode.

"We will see Beth again...eventually," Kirkman teased.

Kirkman also warned that fans were going to have a hard, long wait for season 5, because season 4 will end on a major cliffhanger.

"The cliffhanger at the end of season 4 will make the wait between seasons 4 and 5 the hardest wait we've ever had. ENJOY!" Kirkman wrote.

The Walking Dead airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
