The Mark of Cain is stirring up even more trouble for the Winchester boys on Supernatural.

Dean's Emotional State To End In 'Something Devastating'? Jensen Ackles Talks Tough Year On 'Supernatural'

With the fate of heaven and hell up in the air, Dean (Jensen Ackles) took on the Mark of Cain to fight on the demon front, and his life has been spiraling slowly downward ever since. Now that the elder hunter has experienced the sensation of using the First Blade, it appears Dean is in less of a rush to track down the malicious Knight of Hell (Alaina Huffman).

When Sam (Jared Padalecki) heads off to investigate an alleged possession during "Mother's Little Helper," Dean will stay behind and get psychoanalyzed by the King of Rotten.

Will Castiel Save Dean Winchester From The Mark Of Cain On 'Supernatural'

Crowley (mark Sheppard) is waiting on a call from the Winchesters so he can fork over the First Blade, and the King of Hell is getting a little impatient with the quest. He'll drop in on Dean for a round of pool, and Crowley will find out what the hunter really thinks about using the First Blade (see video below).

Ackles took a moment to dive a little deeper into Dean's Mark of Cain addled psyche with E!.

"It's almost like he's all jacked up on testosterone and steroids, you know, he just feels this kind of rage. There's kind of a mounting rage going on inside him, and it's becoming very cut and dry with what he thinks needs to happen, and he's not thinking twice about it like he used to a bit," Ackles explained. "He's always been kind of a devil-may-care kind of guy, but there's always been a level of humanity and compassion with him, whereas I think that's kind of flying out the window, and he's turning into a more robotic hunter at this point."
