Katrina Kaif News: 'Bang Bang' Star Was In Competition With Deepika Padukone For Ashutosh Gowariker's Period Film? [VIDEO]
It has been rumored that both Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone have turned down the opportunity to take part in Ashutsh Gowariker's period film, Mahenjo-daro.
According to a March 21 article in India Today, a source revealed that both actresses turned down the role due to conflicting schedules.
"Deepika is busy shooting for films she has already signed, including Happy New Year, Shuddhi and Window Seat. She doesn't have any dates for the next two years and thus had to turn down a role in Ashutosh Gowarikar's latest film, Mohenjo-daro," the source said.
Katrina Kaif & Ranbir Kapoor Make Relationship Official?
According to the site, Kaif was approached to be a part of the film as well, but turned him down due to her own tight schedule.
It is unclear if Kaif and Padukone were in competition with one another over the role, or if a rivalry will continue as more film opportunities are presented to them.
It is possible that the two actresses could have a rivalry over Kaif's alleged boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, who may take a trip to Europe with Padukone soon.
According to The Times of India, the Window Seat co-stars have been encouraged by their director to spend some time together to prepare for the film, which could be a problem for Kaif if she and Kapoor are actually dating.
"Those speculations...I've kind of started to expect them now," Kaif said about rumors regarding her love life. "As an actor, you eventually learn to accept such things as a part of your life."
