Kid Cudi Tour: Five Reasons Why The 'Satellite Flight' Rapper's Barclays Center Show Rocked [PHOTO + VIDEO]
Scott Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi, brought his Cud Life Tour to the Barclays Center on Saturday, March 22, and EnStars was there to witness the magnetic show.
Below are five reasons why we're happy we didn't miss his Brooklyn concert:
He surprised fans with a new song
At the show, the 30-year-old performed classic tracks, as well as new ones from his recently released fourth studio album, Satellite Flight. Saturday's show also marked the first time he performed his new song Balmain Jeans live. Yet, Cudi even took some time to premiere an unreleased track, which he deemed "one of those classic Kid Cudi songs." He busted out an a cappella version of the melancholic track and the crowd clapped along. Cudi then promised that he'll finish the song just for his fans.
He brought out a big unannounced guest
Rapper A$AP Rocky joined Cudi on the Brooklyn stage to perform Brothers, their collaboration from Indicud. You can't go wrong with A$AP, can you?
The Satellite Academy Space Suit
Aside from his space-themed stage, Cudi also sported his astronaut-type silver suit, created by Hollywood costume designer Jose Hernandez. The costume also has an eye-catching glowing emblem on the left side of his chest. The one of a kind outfit really brought more life to the show.
He was open about past problems
Throughout the performance, Cudi often spoke to his fans, who he told "I missed you mother--kers something terrible." At one point, he shifted the conversation to his past drug problem and revealed how bad it was. "I used to do so much coke I couldn't feel my face," he said.
That moment he played his biggest hits
The minute Cudi performed his 2009 hit Pursuit of Happiness the energy in the room was raised to a whole new level. The 90-minute set slowly came to an end after that, but the fans wanted more and chanted for him to come back out. After a Barclays staff member requested that everyone go home, it was clear the party was finished. Next time, Cudi, can you stay a little longer?
