Teen Wolf will lose yet another familiar face as it moves into season 4.

Isaac Lahey (Daniel Sharman) will not be returning to Beacon Hills when the MTV drama returns this summer, according to E!.

While this news may come as a shock to fans that are still morning the untimely death of Allison (Crystal Reed), series creator Jeff Davis has promised that Isaac's departure won't be quite so gut wrenching.

"He specifically asked that we not kill off Isaac, so that he could have the chance to return. He said he loved the role so much that he wanted to be able to come back if there was a chance," Davis explained to E!. "But he was at a position where he wanted to stretch his creative wings and I said to him, 'Well, if we can't convince you to come back, we'll definitely leave the door open for you.'"

In the meantime, the 27-year-old Sharman has picked up work in Drone with Battlestar Galactica alum Michael Trucco.

Now that both Isaac and Allison are out of the picture, Scott (Tyler Posey) will have to start rebuilding his pack before he can take on a new batch of evil in season 4.

Teen Wolf will return to MTV on June 23.
