NCIS: Los Angeles will be changing up the team when Kensi returns from Afghanistan.

Special Guest Slated For 'Three Hearts', Eric Christian Olsen & Daniela Ruah Behind-The-Scenes Photos

Kensi (Daniela Ruah) has been away from the Special Ops crew for eight episodes and her last days in Afghanistan won't go particularly well. To avoid any major "transitional issues" upon her homecoming, Renee Felice Smith (Nell) states that Hetty will be keeping Mrs. Blye close to home.

"There are definitely issues [when Kensi returns]," Smith explained to TV Line. "Hetty kind of encourages Kensi to stay close to home in ops, so she and Eric Beale get to spend some time together, which gives Nell and Deeks some time together in the field. It's nice to see the partnerships broken up, different people interacting."

Kensi's first case back will take place during "Windfall." While Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Sam (LL Cool J), Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Nell try to protect a Marine from al Quaeda, the formerly missing agent will be getting a tad frustrated up in Ops.

"[Ops] is not Kensi's area of expertise," explained Barrett Foa (Eric), according to TV Line. "She's doesn't thrive there. And she's kind of annoying for Eric."
