It looks like some intense drama is about to happen on Nashville with Will (Chris Carmack) and Layla's (Aubrey Peeples) upcoming marriage to prove that he is straight, which might involve a lingering romance with Brent (Derek Krantz).

On Tuesday, TVLine posted an interview with Carmack who dished on his character and how it's going to affect the future of Will and Layla.

"I honestly believe that he is deluding himself immensely," Carmack said. "The career aspect of it is probably one of the biggest reasons he's deluding himself...But I don't think we could even remotely like Will if there wasn't some degree of self-delusion because what he's clearly gonna do to this young girl, it's gonna break her heart- or he's gonna end up on the tracks again. He can't live a lie for the rest of his life. It's ridiculous."

The actor then mentioned that a relationship between Will and Brent can be speculated, but probably not for a while since things are too awkward between them.

"I can't comment on the future of Will and Brent, but I can comment on the present," Carmack said. "I'm sure anybody can relate to the uncomfortable situation of being around an ex-lover where things are not resolved."

At this point, it seems that only time will tell if Will and Brent will spark up anything romantic in the future

"It takes a good year-and-a-half before you can start hanging out with an ex-girlfriend again, you know, and it be cool and there aren't mix feelings or jealousy," Carmack said. "And Brent and Will have not had that time to process things."

Nashville airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
