Coal Hill School, a new monster, and the Doctor will all converge during Doctor Who's "Kill The Moon."

Mark Gatiss Hints At New Historical Character, Penning Two Scripts for 'Doctor Who'

A shiny metallic monster is scaring off Coal Hill students and policemen a like in the sixth episode of season 8. Played by Jimmy Vee, the new baddie mad its public debut on Monday as filming got underway for the Paul Murphy directed episode on the streets of Cardiff.

"Cop kicks out two kids from a disused building, then hears something behind the gate," tweeted a bystander before describing Vee's new character as having "big bug-eyes (glowing blue)" and a "metallic" look.

Meanwhile, the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) will be busy running up and down littered allies with his sonic. Wearing what appears to be a brown lab coat, Twelve will be taking directions from his infamous screwdriver near the spot where Vee's monster emerged.

Murphy, who will also direct episode 3, has promised fans that they will be in for a few shockers during season 8.

"Gotta a brilliant day ahead with some awesome surprises for the next series!" Murphy tweeted on Monday.
