Set in Chicago, the upcoming spin-off centers on a brand-new hunter named Ennis Roth (Lucien Laviscount). Thrown into the life following a family tragedy, the 20-something will get a crash course in hunting from Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) before being left to deal with five paranormal families that run the Windy City's underworld.
Featuring Sean Faris and Melissa Roxburgh as Julian and Violet Durant (werewolves), Nathaniel Buzolic and Danielle Savre as David and Margo Hayden (shape-shifters), and Stephen Martines as Freddie Costa (human), the pilot will air as episode 20 of Supernatural's season 9.

While the majority of the episode was filmed in Vancouver, the cast spent March 25-27 on location in Chicago. With Ackles, Padalecki, and the Implala on hand, Bloodlines filmed numerous outdoor scenes around the city with stops at Loyola University and Union Station (see photos above).
"A big thanks to our #chicago #Supernatural #Bloodlines crew for all their talent and support while we filmed here! #illinoislove #unions," tweeted co-executive producer Jim Michaels after filming wrapped on Thursday.
