'Avengers 2' Nick Fury To Have Minimal Role In 'Age Of Ultron'? [VIDEO]
Nick Fury will leave the fighting to the superheroes in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
When Will Marvel Replace Tony Stark? Robert Downey Jr. Dishes On Conclusion Of Role
The Director of SHIELD has a fairly substantial role to play in April's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but actor Samuel L. Jackson says he will be far less important during the Marvel Phase 2 capstone film.
"I'm just kind of passing by there [in Avengers 2] you know. I'm not doing so much, I don't think," Jackson told Yahoo! Movies UK. "Because, it's another one of those 'people who have powers fighting people who have powers.' That's why I didn't get to New York in The Avengers. There's not a lot I could do except shoot a gun."
Luckily for Fury, there will be no shortage of superheroes to battle Ultron (James Spader) in the upcoming Joss Whedon flick. The Avengers are gaining a few new pals, but the villains are growing in number as well.
Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), the Vision (Paul Bettany), and Baron Wolfgang von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann) will be joining Fury and Ultron in the 2015 film.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
