'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers: Rick Goes In Another Direction & Characters Are 'Too Far Gone' To Be Real Humans? [VIDEO]
When The Walking Dead returns for season 5, it looks like the characters are going to side up to some new challenges, involving learning how to just be humans after having to deal with so much chaos.
On Monday, The Hollywood Reporter posted an interview with showrunner Scott M. Gimple and executive producer Robert Kirkman who dished on the message of season 5, and how the characters are going to have to live up to new standards.
"Are we far too gone to be people anymore, to actually be human beings, to be able to relate to one another on an emotional level, to be able to live a real humanistic and emotional life-- are we too far gone?" Gimple said about the characters next season. "Next season really is who do we become after that? Once that question is answered for ourselves, who are these people? That idea will be explored a few different ways."
Kirkman mentioned that Terminus will definitely be a big deal next season along with Rick, who is apparently set for a new road.
"We're going to be dealing with Terminus in a big way as soon as we come back," Kirkman said. "We're also going to be dealing with a more capable and prepared Rick Grimes coming out of what he's experienced in this episode. He's going to go into another really awesome direction."
The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to air in October 2014 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
