Male Vocalist Of The Year, ‘ACM Awards 2014’ Winner Is Jason Aldean [VIDEO]
Beating out fellow nominees to win the prestigious Male Vocalist Of The Year at the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards was Jason Aldean.
Aldean beat out fellow nominees Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban for the honor, which was bestowed upon him at the April 6 ceremony, live from Las Vegas.
Aldean was previously nominated for the award in 2011 and 2012, and won the honor in 2013. He also won for Vocal Event of the Year in 2013 with Luke Bryan and Eric Church for The Only Way I Know. He has also previously won Vocal Event of the Year in 2012, as well as Single of the Year for Don't You Wanna Stay with Kelly Clarkson. He was also the Top New Male Vocalist back in 2005.
Brice has previously been nominated for Song of the Year and Single Record of the Year for Love Like Crazy in 2011, as well as Top New Male Artist and Song of the Year for A Woman Like You in 2013.
Bryan has previously been six ACM awards since bursting onto the country music scene in 2010. In 2010, he won both Top New Artist and Top New Solo Vocalist. In 2013, he won Vocal Event of the Year for The Only Way I Know feat. Jason Aldean and Eric Church. He also won Entertainer of the Year in 2013. For this year's show, he was also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Crash My Party.
Shelton has been nominated for 9 ACM awards since 2001, winning Vocal Event of the Year in 2010 for Hillbilly Bone, Male Vocalist of the Year in 2012, Song of the Year in 2013 for Over You, and the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award. He received five nominations at this year's ceremony, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Based on a True Story, Song of the Year for Mine Would Be You, and Vocal Event of the Year for Boys 'Round Here.
Urban won Top Male Vocalist in both 2005 and 2006, as well as Top New Male Vocalist in 2001. He also won for Album of the Year for Be Here in 2005 and Vocal Event of the Year with Brad Paisley for Start A Band in 2009.
