Katy Perry Part Of Me: Singer Thought Marriage Would Be a Fairy Tale
Katy Perry had always stayed mum about her divorce with Russell Brand. But she finally opened up in her new concert documentary film "Katy Perry: Part of Me".
Part of her break-up is due to her packed schedule and her demanding career - meaning she was performing around the world for her concert tours. She would often fly from where she was just to spend three or four days to see Brand. "She'll fly to wherever Russell is," says a team member in a voiceover in the film. "She's running herself ragged."
According to Us Weekly, Katy would ask where her relationship is going. Perry thought her relationship would be like a fairy tale but admitted that she did everything to make it work but still failed. "The dream of being in love is a lot different than the reality of making it work."
Brand filed for divorce six months ago, after just fourteen months of being married to Perry.
Before the release of her new film, Perry said in an interview with Hollywood Reporter: "There were times when what was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eyes and not my false lashes just as I'm about to go up on that ramp and sing 'Teenage Dream.'" She continued: "Nobody knows what really happened except the two people who are in it."
The "Fireworks" singer's documentary film will debut on July 2.
