Doctor Who's Clara Oswald has only been around for half a season, but in that time she has failed to win over the affections of the TARDIS.

New Villain Cast For Mark Gatiss' 'Doctor Who' Episode, Which Comedian Snagged The Role?

It may seem absurd, a machine hating a specific person, but the Doctor's little blue box has proven on multiple occasions that it has a mind of it's own (and for a brief moment, a body of its own as well). Although many believed that the TARDIS took exception to Clara (Jenna Louise Coleman) due to her paradoxical nature, that story appears to have played itself out while the TARDIS's annoyance has not.

Despite the fact that the ship did help Clara return to Eleven (Matt Smith) during "The Time of the Doctor," showrunner Steven Moffat hints that the contentious relationship will return at some point in the future.

"As the Type 40 bad girl made clear in "The Doctor's Wife," she doesn't like him bringing home strays. The TARDIS, as we know, likes to fire her pet Time Lord at interesting moments in history and watch the fireworks. Anyone less mad than the Doctor might have noticed by now the TARDIS navigation always works perfectly when the crisis demands, but never when he fancies lunch, or tea and biscuits at the Eye of Orion," Moffat explained to Doctor Who Magazine (via Doctor Who TV). "Now those pesky humans who keep following him home are usually content to stumble about, saying: "It's bigger on the inside." and remain sufficiently in awe of the Police Box magic never to question it. But clever, skeptical, hard-to-impress Clara might just cause trouble."

Moffat then hinted that this storyline in imminent.

"It's almost like it's all building to something," Moffat teased. "Oh! What's this I'm writing today?"
