Paul Walker's Mom Comforts Vin Diesel After Son's Death
The Fast and Furious franchise star died after a tragic, fiery, one-car accident this past November. His co-star Jordana Brewster is slated to present a package that will feature some of Walker's most memorable roles. He and his Fast and Furious partner in crime Vin Diesel were nominated for best on-screen duo. No matter who wins, it will be a part of the tribute. The two won the award back in 2002. Walker was in the process of filming the seventh installment of Fast and Furious, but those scenes will not be featured in the tribute.
The president of MTV said that paying homage to Walker was only right. Walker was a loyal attender to the event.
Details on Paul's Last Moments Before Crash
"Paul Walker was a role model for the MTV audience since the very beginning of his too-short career," Stephen Friendman said. "Our audience grew up with him from Varsity Blues to the Furious franchise. He was a movie star but one they could relate to."
He added that Walker's personal character is also a factor that lead to the network's decision for the tribute.
"Paul's humanity and kindness clearly showed through every role. We're honored to be able to spend a moment in this year's Movie Awards to celebrate him."
Walker was also honored at this year's Academy Awards during the Oscar in Memoriam tribute.
Walker joins acting greats Philip Seymour Hoffman and James Gandolfini who we lost in 2013.
