Ashford did acknowledge the immense irony of the situation.

"It was an odd thing that I ended up with a show about sex since I'm sort of one of the biggest prudes on Earth about this," she admitted.

She went on to suggest that she would only show sex in a way that related to the story.

On April 15 the first promo for the second season of Masters of Sex was revealed in which Virginia is seen complaining about being "propositioned for sex a dozen times a day" since the duo's presentation was released in the medical community. In one bit we see her fighting off a colleague in the rest room. She seems to be telling Masters that she is quitting when she says, "I am afraid I have lost my appetite for that."

Season 2 of Masters of Sex returns to Showtime on July 13.
