The release date for The Walking Dead Season 5 has reportedly been announced, but not in a way that was meant to happen.

Season 4 Finale Chatter

On Thursday, The Stir mentioned that UGA football player Chase Vasser landed himself a part on the show, which he was more than likely stoked about. Unfortunately, his excitement may have gotten a little ahead of him after releasing a little too much information about the next season through his Twitter account.

"It's official! Tune in on Oct. 13 on AMC for 'The Walking Dead! #cannibaltwist," Vasser wrote.

Character & Terminus Chatter

According to the site, no one from the cast and crew has announced a release date yet nor anything about a cannibal twist.

The football player ended up deleting the tweet, which doesn't make too much of a difference since it's already been captured.

This creates a little bit of a complication considering October 13 is on a Monday while the series airs on Sundays. Vasser may have meant the 12th, or the show could start airing on Mondays.

On Friday, Vasser posted another tweet that gives more details on who he could play on the show.

"oh snap just got offered my first Villan role. #sopumped #soblessed. Should I do it?" he wrote.

Considering that Vasser has a small resume when it comes to acting, it seems likely that this tweet was referring to The Walking Dead. At this point, only time will tell on who his specific character will be and how big of a "villainous" role he may have.
