Hawaii Five-0 is taking a trip to Afghanistan, and it won't end well for Steve McGarrett.

Wo Fat & Nick Jonas' Ian Wright To End 'Hawaii Five-0' Season Finale With A 'Big Shocker'

The CBS drama is no stranger to sending it's characters overseas - McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Danno (Scott Caan) just stirred up trouble with a recent visit to Cambodia - but this time one Five-0 member will be fighting for his life while another will say goodbye to the series when the credits roll on "Makani ʻOlu a Holo Mālie (Fair Winds and Following Seas)."

Catherine Rollins' (Michelle Borth) military past has come calling, and the former Navy intelligence officer will head to the Middle East with McGarrett in order to help out a family that once saved her life. Their son has been kidnapped by the Taliban and the Five-0 team's mission to get him back will put McGarrett in the hands of the organization instead.

Will Catherine Rollins Die In 'Hawaii Five-0' Series Exit? Who Will Say 'I Love You'?

Injured and alone, McGarrett will be forced to make a "heartbreaking decision," according to TV Guide. As the situation plays out, Rollins will emerge as a hero and could even come back to the series at a later date.

"She doesn't die," Lenkov told TV Guide. "She goes out spectacularly. She goes out a hero, and the door's open for her to come back. Hopefully we'll see her again at some point."
