As residents and emergency services of Vilonia, Ark. work to sort through the devastation left behind by Sunday's half mile wide tornado, videos of the powerful storm and miraculous saves have begun to surface online.

Fourteen people have been confirmed dead in the wake of a massive twister that hit the areas surrounding Mayflower and Vilonia at 7 p.m., but there were some made it to safety in the nick of time, according to The Weather Channel.

Karla Stracener and her elderly parents are a prime example of such survivors. The Center Hill resident hid out the storm in a closet, according to the ABC, and were later helped out of nearly demolished home by rescue workers. The video below, which was shot by neighbor Tammy Moffitt, shows their flashlight-lit emergence.

Other Arkansas residents were on the road as the storm bore down and attempted to keep a safe distance as the funnel engulfed the homes in front of it. Some were not lucky enough to escape Mother Nature's wrath completely, and the following video shows the utter darkness that surrounded two motorists as they ran into the storm's path.

The Vilonia/Mayflower tornado has not yet received a EF rating. You can see an aerial view of the storm's carnage in the video below.
