In a recent interview Criminal Minds Executive Producer Erica Messer spoke about the finale of season 9 suggesting that it would be "action-packed."

Penelope Garcia's 'Life Hangs In The Balance' In Two-Part Finale?

While talking to TVGuide Messer revealed that it would be "one of the more twisted finales" the show has wrought. She also suggested that they were trying to treat the 2-part finale as a movie. "We broke it as a movie, so it's going to be action-packed from beginning to end," she said.

The finale has been broken up in to two parts -- respctively titled Angels and Demons.

Here's the previously revealed synopsis for the first part, Angels:

"When BAU is called to Texas to consult on the murders of prostitues, evidence points to killings with religious overtones. But as they delve further into the investigation, the team could put their lives at rise, on part one of the two-part ninth season finale."

In the second part of the finale, Demons, he BAU will be digging deeper into the ongoing murder investigation in Texas. While a lot of shicking revelations related to the case will surface, what might get fans more nervous is the fact that one BAU member's life will "hang in the balance."

Esai Morales will be returning on the episode as Bau Section Chief Mateo Cruz. The guest stars include Michael Trucco as Owen McGregor and Vrett Cullen as Preacher Mills.

The episode will air on Wednesday, May 14 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The upcoming episode, Fatal, will release on April 30 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
