Snoop Dogg Arrested in Norway for Posession of Marijuana
Snoop Dogg was detained in Oslo Thursday for marijuana posession.
The rapper, who is widely known for his appreciation of pot - was stopped at Oslo's Kjevic Airport on Thursday after a drug-sniffing police dog detected he was carrying a small amount of marijuana, celebrities' site TMZ reports.
He was also fined 52,000 kroner ($8,600 dlrs) for carrying more cash than is legally allowed, according to the Associated Press.
The rapper is scheduled to perform Thursday at the Hovefestival in Hove Leirsenter, Arendal, Norway.Then he will head to France on Friday to perform at the Lac De Montendre Free Music Festival in Montendre. He will perform five more dates in Europe until July 8 and then head to Canada on July 10.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, has been arrested and convicted numerous times in the last 10 years for possession of drugs including marijuana and cocaine, according to Reuters.
In January, the rapper was arrested in Texas for marijuana posession and previously in 2001 he was arrested for the same motive in Cleveland.
He has also been arrested for weapons possession.
The rapper reportedly has a prescription for marijuana in California, his home state.
