'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers: New Character With A Dark & Haunting Secret To Join The Cast? [VIDEO]
The Walking Dead has reportedly found itself a new cast member who will be making regular appearances.
Season 5 Release Date Announced?
On Monday, Deadline reported that Seth Gilliam, who's known for The Wire, will be joining the cast as a character named Michael Todd, although that's not going to be his real name. Michael will be known as having two personalities, one of them being a fun and friendly human being while also having some sort of haunting past that comes with a dark secret.
While Gilliam is known for his role as Ellis Carver on The Wire, he's also been in a number of films, including Starship Troopers, Courage Under Fire and Did You Hear About the Morgans? He also plays Dr. Alan Deaton on the MTV series Teen Wolf.
This sparks up some speculation that if a new character is added, then another could be killed off. According to showrunner Scott Gimple's interview with Comic Book Resources, any of the characters could be killed off.
"I mean, it's a bummer, but nobody's too important to kill off," Gimple said. "I'm not thrilled to say that, but it's just the nature of the show."
The showrunner also mentioned that the reason for more people dying on the show was mainly to create some sort of purpose.
"Anybody can die, anybody will die, and my goal is that it not just be for shock value and that it serve the story," Gimple said. "People might last a good long time, or they might be taken tomorrow."
The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere in October on AMC.
