Kevin Spacey spoke with Anthony Mason on May 4 about how most people thought that Netflix's taking an immense risk -- by not even seeing the pilot and locking $100 million dollars and ordering 26 episodes -- was a crazy idea.

In the interview, Spacey, spoke about working on House of Cards and Richard III, the play he is touring with, with CBS news' Mason. He suggested that he stood by the idea of doing the Netflix series, despite the gamble it was.

"I think people thought we were nuts," Spacey said. "I didn't think we were nuts."

He went on to tell Mason that he was having an amazing time playing the vile political opportunist, Francis Underwood.

"I'm having the time of my life working on it," he said. "It's a complete joy.

He went on to give the main credit to the malicious main man of the show. "And ultimately, of course, there's Pope Francis as well," he said.

The third season of the show will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
