'Downton Abbey' Season 5 News: Anna To 'Bring Disrepute To The House' & 'Lose Her Husband' After Rape Incident? [VIDEO & Spoilers]
Downton Abbey Season 5 is going to have some more crazy drama, one of them involving the aftermath of Anna's rape.
Actress Takes Pictures Of Season 5 Set?
On Tuesday, GPB Blogs posted new details from Joanne Froggart, who plays Anna on the series, where she spoke of the shocking incident on how that could affect her character as well as her marriage since she feels like she couldn't tell her husband right away about what happened.
"(Anna) would have felt like she couldn't tell him," Froggart said. "All a girl of Anna's social standing has is her reputation. She'd bring disrepute to the house. Quite possibly lose her husband."
Lady Mary To Be Involved In A New Romance?
Series creator Julian Fellowes also dished on the frightening moment, and mentioned that his own family went through a similar situation.
"In my own family, my grandfather's cousin was Oscar Wilde's wife: Constance Wilde- Constance Lloyd as she was born," Fellowes began. "She and my great grandmother grew up together."
"The moment the 'scandal' happened, they dropped her," Fellowes added. "None of it was her fault. (But) it was over."
Froggart also spoke of her character's situation and what it was like having to portray it.
"It was an eye-opening experience," the actress said. "But for a person of Anna' status, her reputation is all she has and she wouldn't want to lose her good name."
Fellowes then hinted that only he knows what her husband will be capable of at that point.
Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
