'Reign' Spoilers: Mary Goes Through With Catherine's Vicious Plot To Murder King Henry? [VIDEO]
Reign is about to air its first season finale as Mary and Queen Catherine discuss a wicked plan on killing King Henry.
In a sneak peek of the next episode published on E! News on Thursday, Francis is rambling on how he needs to try to get his father away from the castle. He's skeptical that something awful is happening to the king involving poison to which Catherine has ruled out. But Francis makes it clear that he is not convinced.
"I know what he has done and what he has become," Francis says. "But I need one last chance to break through to him. I need to make sure that I have tried everything."
Reign Finale Will Be 'Amazing?'
Mary gives her husband permission on his plan, but he needs to do it quickly. As Francis leaves, he shows that he is confident in reaching his father- but Catherine is well aware that that will never happen.
Mary then tells the queen that she can't be a part of the murder of her husband's father, but Catherine says that Francis would become king and Mary would take the throne as well. If the king isn't dead, then thousands of men will die in war.
The queen adds that by killing the king, they will save the men and spare Francis the burden of killing his own father.
Mary thinks about this and says, "There is some truth in that...it's a strange kind of mercy."
Catherine then settles that she and Mary will indeed kill the King of France.
Reign airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
