The Avengers will undoubtedly be pushed to their limits when they take on a robotic menace in Age of Ultron but Black Widow will have her own personal battles to fight as well.

Natasha Romanoff's past is coming back to haunt her and the superspy Avenger will be facing up to her former actions when Earth's Mightiest Heroes reunite in the wake of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
"I think these characters have pretty, kind of, sordid pasts and it's about time that those pasts kind of came back to us in one way or another," Johansson teased, according to Total Film. "So I think you'll get to really learn a bit about, perhaps, the demons that these characters individually grapple with."

While it is unknown if any of the other members of Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) elite task force will have similar problems, Johansson has revealed that Black Widow's will focus mainly on her training and what it designed her to do.
"She has a rich, rich past," Johansson said, according to TV3. "She definitely comes from a really dark past, she's had to de-sensitize or de-humanize in way to be able to do and see some of the things she's seen and participated in willingly...It's hitting her now that she's been acting as a gun for hire, and in doing that she's never really made any active choices."
