In an interview on May 9, A.J. Cook, who plays Agent JJ Jareau in Criminal Minds, stated that a "sad secret" from one of the characters will be revealed in the second part of the finale.

'Whole Team In Jeopardy Like They've Never Been Before' In Finale?

Cook spoke to Buddy TV, also suggesting that things will get personal as two of the BAU's own members have been injured in the fight.

"When our team is affected, that's when things get personal, that's where we just want to get these bad guys, and it turns out that it's just a really deep, deep web of corruption," Cook said.

Will Matt Cruz Be Killed Off In The Finale?

When talking about the secret that will be revealed he added that the finale would ride high on emotions.

"The deeper the team digs, it's just kind of this crazy mess, so we have that to deal with, yet we also emotionally have to deal with one of our team member's life hanging in the balance and we also find out something really kind of sad, a sad secret from one of our characters that we didn't know about," he said.

Here's the official synopsis for the second part of the finale, titled Demons:

"Demons - The BAU continues its murder investigation in Texas, and clues uncover a deep web of corruption that could be the motive for the killings. Meanwhile, as one team member's life hangs in the balance, another concerned BAU member must face a sad secret from the past, and Garcia is thrust into action to save a colleague, on the conclusion of the two-part ninth season finale of Criminal Minds."

Finale to be 'One of the More Twisted' Conclusions to a Criminal Minds Season?

Esai Morales will be returning on the episode as Bau Section Chief Mateo Cruz. The guest stars include Michael Trucco as Owen McGregor and Vrett Cullen as Preacher Mills.

The first part of the finale, Angels, aired on May 7.

Demons will air on Wednesday, May 14 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
