Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes delivered some new information on what's to come next season recently, including info on the new world that the characters are going to be facing.

On Sunday, Red Carpet News TV posted an interview with Fellowes, who dished on the series taking place in the 1920's, which will leave some speculation on how that can affect the characters living in this generation. The creator mentioned that he finds this decade to be interesting and something that fans can look forward to.

"The 20's, people don't look at nearly as much," Fellowes said. "And yet it was this strange era of transition, the beginning of the 20's people weren't really sure that much had changed. By the end, the Wall Street Crash would change the west, you know, forever."

Fellowes gave more of an explanation on how the world changed in the years between, which will likely made the characters have to deal with an entirely new surrounding.

"In those few years in between, there was this dawning realization that the world had become a different place, and that seems to me a very rewarding setting for a drama, really, as they all have to come to terms with a new world," the creator said.

Fellowes then revealed that there is no particular character whose journey he identifies with the most because he loves them all.

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
