'Sleepy Hollow' Season 2 Gets 18 Episodes, Uninterrupted Season On Fox? [VIDEO]
Sleepy Hollow is returning to Fox, and the multi-genre series will deliver an extra dose of apocalyptic mayhem with an extended season.
The time traveling Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and the indomitable Abby Mills (Nicole Beharie) swept onto the scene last Fall with a series that managed to combine a cop drama with historical fiction and sci-fi to create an improbable fan favorite. While Sleepy Hollow's freshman season finale left viewers gobsmacked following an astonishing twist, its 13-episode run left fans dying for more.
Luckily, Crane and Mills will be able to battle demons and horsemen across 18 episodes during the 2014-2015 season. Also, according to Fox's Entertainment Chairman, Kevin Reilly, the series will see an almost uninterrupted series, which means viewers won't have any multi-week gaps between episodes.
"Last year, Sleepy Hollow, in its first season, was making mini-movies every week," Reilly said, according to Give Me My Remote. "It was a big show. We stopped when we felt we could put out a creatively excellent product. I think the show ended on a high note, as opposed to teasing it out for six or nine episodes, and having it barely hold together, and having a lot of repeats to get there."
While most shows are just wrapping up production of their summer hiatus, Sleepy Hollow has already been filming for two months, ensuring that the forthcoming episodes will be every bit as fantastic as their predecessors.
Sleepy Hollow will return to Fox later this year.
