The biggest question in Salem right now is certainly who murdered Nick Fallon -- and it's one that still may not be answered for some time on Days of Our Lives.

Nick is Murdered

Nick (Blake Berris) was shot in cold blood from behind and managed to see who his killer was before he died, but since he was an extremely unpopular guy in town for several reasons, his killer truly could have been anyone.

E.J. (James Scott) and Sami (Alison Sweeney) should seem like the most likely suspects, because they each had individual motives for wanting Nick dead -- as well as the money and resources to hire a hitman to complete their dirty work. However, if Nick knew and recognized his shooter, it could absolve them from the crime.

A Large List Of Murder Suspects Threatens Relationships?

As Hope (Kristian Alfonso) begins compiling a list of suspects to bring in for questioning, Marlena (Deidre Hall) will discover something startling about Nick's murder. She may feel inclined to investigate because Nick had sought her out for some advice and help before his death. If what she finds can help point towards a killer, she may be put at a crossroads -- especially if what she discovers points to one of her own loved ones pulling the trigger.

Meanwhile, Abigail (Kate Mansi) is feeling guilt-ridden over Nick's murder because she wanted someone to do something about him. He had taunted her with the fact that he had photo evidence of her affair with E.J., and now the guilt over her wish coming true is eating her up inside. Though her mother Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) has been dealing with her own personal dramas following an escape from Horton Cabin after being held at gunpoint by Liam (Mark Collier), she will put her own problems aside to ensure her daughter feels safe again.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
