Lisbon Just Waiting For Patrick Jane To 'Declare Himself' On 'The Mentalist'?
"You look around and the person standing next to you for five-and-half-years is nowhere to be seen, there's an emptiness and a hollowness," Baker explained to The Hollywood Reporter, referencing his character's feelings during a two-year time jump. To leave Lisbon again would make her absence all the more noticeable. "It was an obvious progression to get to the idea of longing and missing that person who, when the dust settles, has always been there and [now] she's not there."
Meanwhile, Tunney believes Lisbon has a very similar view of Jane's position (or soon to be non-position) in her life.
"They're both lonely people and they had this thing, [Red John], in common. Once that was gone, Lisbon really missed him," Tunney told The Hollywood Reporter. "She realized that it wasn't just about catching the bad guy: 'I love being around this person and what does this mean?'"
Knowing how it feels to be apart, will Jane and Lisbon attempt to start a more romantic relationship in the season 6 finale?
