Now that Man of Steel 2 director Zack Snyder has tweeted out the first photo of Batman (Ben Affleck), it is only a matter of time before the world gets their first glance at Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot).

Production on Man of Steel 2 is reportedly not underway yet, but Snyder's Batman photo certainly caused more buzz on the internet than the project has received in a long time. With the success of this tease, it is possible that fans will also get to see Gadot in her Wonder Woman costume.

Gadot posted a cryptic tease on her Facebook page Monday, writing, "Busy busy week... Let's have a WONDERful week everyone! xoxo."

Considering she capitalized the "wonder" portion of this message, it is suggested that she will be doing something for the film this week. This could signal the start of production or it could mean that she will go public as her heroic new character.

The image released of Batman on Tuesday suggests that Snyder and company will be going in a new direction with Bruce Wayne's alter ego, with a very different image than Christian Bale's Batman in the Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

For Wonder Woman, there is less precedent for her appearance since this is the first time the iconic superhero will be appearing on the big screen.

Man of Steel 2 stars Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's butler. Holly Hunter will also be in the film, though her role is unknown. Additionally, Ray Fisher has essentially be confirmed to be playing Cyborg.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters May 6, 2016.
