It's almost time for Supernatural to play a certain Kansas tune, and Dean is in a rather homicidal mood as the Winchesters move into the season 9 finale.

Cain To Return On 'Supernatural'? Will Tim Omundson Help Remove Dean's Mark

Thanks to the Mark of Cain, Dean's (Jensen Ackles) '80s references and witty comebacks have been slowly replaced by a brooding scowl and a desire to kill everything that moves. Despite Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel's (Misha Collins) efforts to lock him away during next Tuesday's "Do You Believe in Miracles," it looks like the elder Winchester will still find himself in the middle of the fray (see photo above and sneak peek below).

However, it appears Dean's amped up murder drive won't be the most shocking part of the episode.

What Is Dean Winchester Thinking On 'Supernatural'? Mark Of Cain Powers Explained, Will He Be Saved In Finale?

"It's not so much the place that he's in as opposed to the issue that's surrounding him, and that I think is the shocking part," Ackles informed Entertainment Weekly.

Despite this, fans can hopefully look forward to seeing Dean's cocky grin once more when the CW drama returns for season 10.

"I'm hoping that season 10 might lighten him up a bit," Ackles explained, according to Entertainment Weekly. "[Season] 9 took a bit of a toll, but at the same time, that's something I don't expect. Because the show is every evolving and it constantly changes, the characters have to do the same, so even though it was a rough tough season, I still think it was a good season. We'll see."
