'Downton Abbey' Season 5 Spoilers: Series Will Be 'Surreal,' Character Went 'Through The Fourth Wall?' [VIDEO]
One of the new actors from Downton Abbey revealed what it's been like for him to be a part of the series with a hint on what kind of season viewers can expect.
Season 5 Will Make An 'Observation?'
On Friday, The List reported the details from Richard E. Grant who will play Simon Bricker, a friend of the Crawleys, next season. The actor was at the Fragrance Foundation Awards 2014 where he mentioned that working on the series has been "surreal." He also apparently finished his guest appearance.
"It's just slightly odd when you've been a fan of the show and you suddenly find you're one of the characters," Grant said. "It's like going through the fourth wall. I had a really enjoyable time."
One Of The Main Actresses Is Leaving The Series?
The actor also spoke of the small incident that happened when series creator said that Grant's been "very naughty" for posting photos on his Twitter page of himself in costume.
"That was fabricated," Grant said. "There's an embargo on the storylines, but I didn't actually reveal anything."
Fellowes recently told Red Carpet News TV that he likes to have a story with strength while adding something charming with it.
"It gives you an opportunity to say things and to make some kind of observation about the world we live in, you know," the creator said. "And then you sprinkle a bit of charm and humor over the top of it and that seems to be the recipe."
Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
