One of the actresses from Downton Abbey dished on her character and what the creator's been up to, giving some hints on how the next season could begin.

Season 5 Will Have 'Charm & Humor?'

On Tuesday, The Huffington Post published a story with actress Lesley Nicol, who plays head cook Mrs. Patmore on the series. She mentioned how she's proven others wrong when she was told that she couldn't win a part on television.

"I'm not a believer when people say you're in this box, and you can't do this or that," Nicol said. "They tell you, 'You're over 45, so there are no parts for women.' Shut up! Things happen! I actually have the best part I've ever had on television, and it's become a global hit!"

Season 5 Will Take On A Different Style?

Nicol also said that series creator Julian Fellowes pays close attention to the period eras so they look accurate.

"He keeps a close eye on the finer points of behavior as well as the running of the house itself in the 1910s and '20s," the actress said.

This gives some speculation on the fifth season, and how much focus will be used on the older generations.

Nicol also revealed that she and her character have their own shares of similarities and differences.

"Actually, in real life I'm not a particularly good cook," the actress said. "I make sure I don't do anything too technical on screen.

"Mrs. Patmore and I have a similar sense of humor," she added. "I'm not as sarcastic as she is, but we're both funny."

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
