‘Breaking Amish: Return To Amish’ Premiere: Going Home ‘The Only Option’ For Abe, Rebecca, Jeremiah & Rest Of Gang? [VIDEO]
With the premiere of Breaking Amish: Return to Amish set to air in just a few short weeks, more details continue to emerge about what the ex-Amish will now face as they head back to the community they chose to leave for good.
Andrew and Chapel's Wedding To Feature On New Season Despite Drama With Abe and Rebecca?
As Abe Schmucker, Rebecca Byler, Jeremiah Raber, Sabrina High and Kate Stoltzfus return to the Amish communities they left behind, they will be forced to reflect on the adventures that took them out of the community the first time, and made them decide to never return.
A new clip, which reflects on the first two installments of the show, shows the various events that took them from their communities -- and seems to hint that these same things are what brought them back.
The clip shows how being in New York brought Abe and Rebecca together as a couple, and how it brought a love for simple English behaviors -- like dressing in different clothes, being able to party and drink, and exploring careers outside of farming -- into their lives, forcing them to all quit living Amish lives. When they returned to Florida, the consequences of their actions, including the shunning of Abe's mother, Mary, resulting in her moving in with the gang, further affected their lives.
Now, after living in both New York and Florida, the entire gang, with the exception of Kate, has returned to Pennsylvania, and will be adjusting to lives where they are constantly on the outside -- of both the English communities they are still trying to gain acceptance to, and the Amish communities they left behind.
"Who says you can never go home? For these young Amish and Mennonite people, leaving their communities was just the first step in an emotional journey. That path has led them back to where they began," the clip announced before cutting to scenes from the group's prior adventures.
When TLC first announced a new installment of the series in February, they released the following information about what fans could expect from the series:
"Since the Sarasota trip, the entire group has decided to return back to Pennsylvania, except Kate, who has decided to stay in NYC. With two new babies on the way, the original group is growing fast. Abe and Rebecca prepare to welcome their baby into the family with both Amish and English traditions as they continue to adjust to married life. Viewers will also be a part of Sabrina's journey as she goes through the ups and downs of her pregnancy. Jeremiah's love life and current job situation is also highlighted throughout the new series, as is Mary's ongoing struggles with being shunned by the community. And as Andrew is newly released from jail, he tries to start fresh with on-again, off-again girlfriend Chapel, as well as his relationship with his entire family-a work in progress at best. Cameras also follow Kate as she officially becomes a New Yorker-living on her own, dating in the big city, and continuing with her budding modeling career."
Breaking Amish: Return to Amish premieres Sunday, June 1 at 9 p.m. on TLC.
